  • Job Location: Home institution.
  • Description: The secondee will assist the CTAO Director in defining environmental footprint reduction targets and devising the related action plan. Regularly report to the CTAO Director on the environmental footprint reduction achievements. S/he will foster environmental footprint reduction across all CTAO Directorates and the CTAO Project Office; organise related training of CTAO employees, in-kind contributors and other CTAO stakeholders; set up standards and a follow up policy for all environmental aspects in CTAO; assure the delivery of an environmental lifecycle footprint analysis of CTA, including footprints related to CTAO activities as well as in-kind contributions to CTAO, and the regular update of this analysis, to monitor environmental footprint reduction achievements against reduction targets; support in-kind providers, as well as other CTAO stakeholders, in their environmental lifecycle footprint analyses and reduction plans; supervise and coordinate the implementation of environmental footprint reduction actions; explore environmental footprint reduction synergies with CTAO hosting organisations; establish an environmental footprint reduction network with other research infrastructures (in particular in the domain of astronomy and the context of ESFRI) for cross fertilisation; and assure regular and open communication of environmental footprint reduction plans and achievements to CTAO, CTAO stakeholders, and the general public.
  • Qualification: Degree in Physics, Engineering or comparable education. 
  • Knowledge, Experience & Soft Skills: Experience in CTAO or other observatories in astronomy would be an asset.

  • Description: The secondee will assist the Environmental Footprint Reduction Officer in all its tasks, in particular: foster environmental footprint reduction across all CTAO Directorates and the CTAO Project Office. Organise related training of CTAO employees, in-kind contributors and other CTAO stakeholders; assure the delivery of an environmental lifecycle footprint analysis of CTAO, including footprints related to CTAO activities as well as in-kind contributions to CTAO, and the regular update of this analysis, to monitor environmental footprint reduction achievements against reduction targets; and upport in-kind providers, as well as other CTAO stakeholders, in their environmental lifecycle footprint analyses and reduction plans. 
  • Qualification: Degree in Physics, Engineering or comparable education.

  • Description: The secondee will develop, implement and monitor a strategic, comprehensive information security and IT risk management program for CTAO. S/he will provide advanced knowledge and understanding of the cybersecurity environment, common network and host-based attacks, attack methods, and network defense architectures; contribute to computer security projects (e.g. Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), firewall appliances, SPAM & malware filtering, control system & IoT security, storage of secrets) relevant for better protection of the CTAO Organization; establish a CTAO Computer Emergency Response Team and handle computer security incidents as well as provide forensics capabilities for all the CTAO sites; and troubleshoot highly complex problems for which the analysis and resolution require extensive knowledge of many diverse system components. 
  • Qualification: Degree in Computer Science/engineering and relevant technical working experience in IT security matters 
  • Knowledge, Experience & Soft Skills: Advanced knowledge and understanding of the cybersecurity environment, common network and host-based attacks, attack methods, and network defense architectures. Experience with Cloud computing/Elastic computing across virtualized environments. Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
