Lead Systems Engineer, Wolfgang Ansorge, to Join Project

We are very pleased to announce that Wolfgang Ansorge will soon join the CTAO project office team as the Lead Systems Engineer. Wolfgang has long-standing experience in systems engineering and quality assurance in both industrial and scientific projects. In the 1990s, he was leading the systems engineering and product assurance activities at ESO for the construction of the Very Large Telescope (VLT) at Paranal Observatory, Chile. After completion of the VLT, he contributed to a wide range of complex scientific instrumentation of ESO, Max-Planck-Institutes, universities and instrument consortia with his expertise in systems engineering, project management, quality assurance and RAMS. Wolfgang is co-author of several Systems Engineering books published by the German Chapter of INCOSE and is a member of the International Council of Systems Engineering, the German Chapter of INCOSE (GfSE) and the Verein Deutscher Ingenieure.

Wolfgang – together with the systems engineers in the project office and at the various contributing institutes – will help manage all system aspects of CTA, including the detailed systems design, interface definitions, test plans and reviews. He will start on 1 May 2018 but plans to attend the CTA Project Committee meeting in April in Bologna. Please join us in welcoming Wolfgang to CTA!
