Effective 1 March 2019, Stefan Schlenstedt will join the CTA Observatory (CTAO) as its Computing Coordinator.

Stefan has been with CTA since its inception. While at DESY Zeuthen, he has helped drive the development of the Medium-Sized Telescope, which he led for many years, and was a member of the CTA site search committee. Until last year, he was the DESY group lead, where he was responsible for the MST and Operation and Execution System planning. Before joining CTA, he worked as the reconstruction software lead for AMANDA and the IceCube collaboration.

As a member of the CTA Project Office and part of the construction project, he will play a key role in coordinating software related activities. He will work closely with the coordinators of the various major software elements, systems engineering and the contributing institutions throughout CTA to implement an efficient and easy-to-maintain software system. In addition, he will coordinate the definition of the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) infrastructure for the CTA construction project both on- and off-site.
